“Well, we hope for the best, but we cannot just go and win them with hunger. I just hope our management will motivate the players,” he said.
Warri Wolves players in the Nigerian Professional Football League had complained bitterly at the inability of the club to pay salaries as they continued to beg the Delta state government to intervene.
Salami who is now the joint top scorer of 15 goals with Esosa Igbinoba of Nasarawa United expressed displeasure that he had chances to have scored more goals
“Although I am happy for this feat, however I believe I should have done better because I get chances but at times I assist others in the team,” he stated.
Salami’s goals have helped his team to the second position in the league with 62 points from 38 games trailing Enyimba by 6 points with two games to go.
Warri Wolves will travel to Aba to face the People’s Elephants in a match that is considered as the League decider. Enyimba need just a point from that game to be champion of the 2014/15 league season.
